Divinum Combat Guide: Juggles, Parries and the 555 Combo

The Core Loop: Get Them Airborne

Divinum’s combat is a hack-and-slash system built around a specific idea, and the store page states it plainly: you launch enemies into the air, where they cannot act or escape, and while they are up there Fjor gains access to unique moves.

Everything else hangs off that:

  • Launch puts the enemy in a state where it cannot respond.
  • Air moves are a separate move set, not the ground set repeated.
  • Juggling keeps the enemy in that state, which is why the combo ceiling is so high.

The achievement Skybound — defeat 250 non-flying enemies mid-air — tells you how central this is. Not 250 air hits: 250 enemies killed without letting them land.

Two Primary Weapons

Divinum gives you two distinct primary weapons plus special skills, and the store page describes “unstoppable combos” as coming from combining them. The release-date trailer in July 2026 was promoted specifically as the first look at a brand-new weapon, so weapon variety is a headline feature rather than a footnote.

What follows practically: switching weapons mid-string is a combo-extension tool, not a loadout decision you make once in a menu. Keep both in your mental rotation, especially while juggling — the combo counter does not care which weapon landed the hit.

Defense: Dodge, Block, Parry

The store page names three defensive options — quick dodges, blocks and parries — and the achievement list confirms parry has a timing window worth mastering:

  • Flawless Guard — perform a Perfect Block three times in quick succession. A Perfect Block is a timing-window block, which is Divinum’s parry.
  • Relentlessstun enemies 5 times in quick succession. Stun is a resource you generate, and it chains.
  • Reflection — defeat an enemy with their own projectile. Deflection is a real mechanic, not a visual.

If you are dying in the early game, the fix is almost always the block, not the combo. Perfect Block feeds stun; stun feeds launches; launches feed everything else.

Fury and Furious Surge

Fury is a separate resource system with its own unlock (Furious) and its own slot progression: Unstoppable requires conquering the Crucible and unlocking the 2nd Fury slot, which tells you Fury slots expand through hard content rather than through story beats.

Furious Surge is the active state. Two achievements bracket it:

  • Inner Fire — trigger Furious Surge 100 times. It is meant to be used constantly, not saved for emergencies.
  • Fury Unleashed — complete a combat gauntlet or a boss fight in Furious Surge. That is a full encounter without dropping the state.

The Combo Counter and the 555

The combo counter is not original to the launch build — it arrived in the demo update alongside a new mechanic tied to it, and that mechanic is unlocked in a combat challenge mode. Same update added an alternative Uppercut that keeps you on the ground, performed by quick-tapping up + attack, which is exactly the tool you need to re-launch without following the enemy up.

Blade Master asks for a combo of 555. Three things make that reachable:

  1. Grounded Uppercut to relaunch without committing your own position.
  2. Weapon switching to extend strings past a single weapon’s loop.
  3. A crowd, not a single target — Sweeping Strike (defeat 3 enemies in a single hit) and Contact Damage (kill by knocking an enemy into a solid surface) both point at fights with multiple bodies to bounce between.

Gauntlets Are the Cheap Route to Hard Achievements

Three of the toughest-sounding achievements accept either a combat gauntlet or a boss fight:

  • Untouchable — no damage taken
  • Last Stand — finish with 1 HP remaining
  • Fury Unleashed — finish in Furious Surge

A gauntlet is repeatable in a way a story boss is not, so grind these there. See the boss guide for the encounter-specific side.

Build Interaction

Combat sits on top of two other systems:

  • Runes — 25 of them, and five confirmed set themes including a skill-focused set and a cooldown-focused set. Runes change how the combat loop behaves.
  • Skills and MasteriesArcane Potential (unlock every Skill) and Trained to Perfection (unlock all Masteries) are the two completion markers.

Combat FAQ

What is the combo record in Divinum? The game’s own target is 555, set by the Blade Master achievement.

Is there a parry in Divinum? Yes — it is called Perfect Block, and Flawless Guard requires three in quick succession.

Can I beat a boss without taking damage? It is an achievement (Untouchable), and it also accepts a combat gauntlet, which is the easier venue for it.

Does Divinum have difficulty options? No difficulty settings are listed on the store page. The optional challenge content — the runestone trials and the Crucible — is where the difficulty lives.
